Vacations and Working Out? How to work it out!

So you're going to the beach for a quick getaway, yay! Right?

What about your workout routine? You've been so consistent; you don't want to just throw that all away! Rest assured, a short vacation will not undo all your progress! You will not "lose gains" overnight or even over two nights? And to be quite frank, if you did, so what? It's perfectly okay to take some time off!

What about those of you who are worried about gaining weight from lack of exercise? Simple answer: Be active! Often times, when I go on vacation, my step count is way higher than normal! This is considered NEAT (non exercise activity thermogenesis), basically energy used through daily activity versus an exercise program. NEAT can be very effective at burning some calories!

That's my step count from a recent beach trip; The day before was even higher.

You can also enjoy activities like swimming, riding bikes, hiking, playing ball, etc. Living a fit lifestyle does not need to be a chore, especially when you're on vacation!

If you really want to do a quick workout, there's plenty of body weight exercises you could try, all you need is Google! But remember to enjoy the little things and the relaxing time with family and friends!
