Holy (no)Cow!

no cow, say whaa?

Formerly known as D's Naturals, nocow is a vegan brand that recently underwent some changes. They have new flavors, new packaging, new products and their new name which boasts that they use no cow protein sources. No bull, no whey!*

So what is the source-ery behind no cow's protein?

The protein is a blend of brown rice protein and pea protein. They sweeten the bars with monk fruit, erythritol and stevia extract so they are low in sugar - just 1g!

They also have new cookies with just 1 gram of sugar which I have yet to try. They also have fluffbutter which is a protein spread that I have tried in years past.

So far I have tried the Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, Carrot Cake, and Raspberry Truffle. All the bars run around 200 calories and 20g protein which is great for a plant based bar!

They all have a similar fudgy texture that I really enjoyed. The peanut butter chocolate chip had a light peanut butter flavor. I would've liked more chocolate chips but beggars can't be choosers, so with 1 gram of sugar, I'd say it's pretty solid.

The carrot cake flavor had a nice sweet spiciness although I can't attest to it tasting like actual carrot cake because I've never had actual carrot cake. If I were to change this bar, I would add a frosting drizzle!

The raspberry truffle, surprisingly, may be my favorite so far. It is a sweet berry flavor with chunks (possibly dried raspberry, I'm not really sure.) I really enjoyed it, but I have my sights set on Chunky Peanut Butter!

I will try to update as I try more of the new flavors and products!

*(Disclaimer: I am not vegan but I enjoy trying vegan products and thus have an unaffected opinion. I received a few bars free to try but all opinions are my own.)

Have your tried these? Do you think they've made improvements? I think the texture has improved! I can't wait to try more!
